I've noticed, in reflecting on what many people have had to say about the solstice of 2012, that there's a lot of fear associated with this, and even a certain amount of aggression. We're all feeling the strain of some heavy changes that are going on right now. But this is part of where I'm trying to help. That's why I write a lot of the stuff I do. Please don't be afraid or stress unduly over all this. It's letting that kind of reaction get the better of you that makes it harder to function in a new way - or even at all.

So, what will happen in 2012? There are lots of ideas, and nobody can realistically claim to know for certain. Be cautious about wild claims of privileged, secret knowledge. Keep your own eyes and mind open. It could be nothing. It could be a cataclysmic event. It could be an unnoticed tipping point concerning our effect on the earth, one which we may or may not recognize in retrospect. It could be an evolution of consciousness. Anything that actually does happen might be part of a plan, or it might be coincidence. My advice is neither to try to predict nor to simply wait for it to happen to you (and to the rest of us). Instead, be an active participant in what's going on within and around you - now, then, and afterwards. Consider that the nature of this moment in 2012 might involve a choice, even (and maybe especially) if there's no destined change or special event in store. See to the freedom of your mind and the love in your heart.

You don't, by any means, have to be a Basican for this to be a worthwhile little trip to take. My point is to try to offer at least some kind of assistance to anyone who's looking for a bit of support and encouragement along the way to whatever happens (or doesn't) when the celestial and terrestrial crosses align in the sign of Ophiuchus. Remember, our most foundational responsibilities as human beings of high spiritual aspiration don't change based on the events of that time - or any other. Love, not as a fleeting emotion, but as a profound way of life, incorporating an ongoing attitude from which springs an associated mode of behavior, really is the answer, in one way or another. Always.
