Merlin is best known as the wizard featured in the Arthurian legend. The standard depiction of the character first appears in Geoffrey of Monmouth's Historia Regum Britanniae, written c.1136, and is based on an amalgamation of previous historical and legendary figures. Geoffrey combined existing stories of Myrddin Wyllt (Merlinus Caledonensis), a North British madman with no connection to King Arthur, with tales of the Romano-British war leader Ambrosius Aurelianus to form the composite figure he called Merlin Ambrosius.

Merlin's 2012 Prophecy

We know of Merlin, the wizard of King Arthur, the truth is there was a man named Merlin, a welsh man who was dark in tongue and rambled prophecies of the future to come and this is what he said.

"The roots and branches will change there places, and the novelty of the thing shall pass for a miracle. The brightness of the sun shall fade at the amber of Mercury, and horror shall seize the beholders. Stilbon of Arcadia shall change his shield; the helmet of Mars shall call Venus. The helmet of Mars shall make a shadow; and the rage of Mercury pass his bounds.

Iron Orion shall un sheath his sword: the marine Phoebus shall torment the clouds; Jupiter shall go out of his lawful paths; and Venus forsake her stated lines. The malignity of the star Saturn shall fall down in rain, and slay mankind with a crooked sickle. The twelve houses of the star shall lament the irregular excursions of their guests.

The seas shall rise up in the twinkling of an eye, and the dust of the ancients shall be restored. The winds shall fight together with a dreadful blast, and their sound shall reach the stars."

As you can see Merlin saw the same prophecy as the Mayan people but what is shocking is the fact that Merlin looks at the date 2012 as the date it will occur without ever seeing the Mayan prophecy.

ASKING THE DEAD FOR AN ANSWER

The Real 2012 Predictions Decoded

There on the horizon is a strong dark silhouette. It is a man, a woman, a savior our guiding light. To some the messiah, others the Antichrist or the Devil incarnate disguised to trick us all. Or is it God?

a current 2012 rumor is of a n old Prophetess who lived in a cave near Naples, Italy named the Cumaean Sibyl. The ageless Cumaean Sibyl was the priestess presiding over the Apollonian oracle at Cumae, a Greek colony located near Naples, Italy.

The famous cave known as the “Antro della Sibilla” was discovered by Amedeo Maiuri in 1932, the identification of which he based on the description by Virgil in the 6th book of the Aeneid, and also from the description by an anonymous author known as pseudo-Justin.( Verg. Aen. 6. 45-99; Ps-Justin, 37). The cave is a trapezoidal passage over 131 m long, running parallel to the side of the hill and cut out of the volcanic tuff stone. An innermost chamber, where the Sibyl was thought to have prophesied, has later been identified as an early Christian burial chamber from the 4th or 5th century AD (M. Napoli 1965, 105).

A nearby tunnel through the acropolis now known as the "Crypta Romana" (part of Agrippa and Octavian's defenses in the war against Sextus Pompey) was previously identified as the Grotto of the Sibyl.

The word sibyl comes (via Latin) from the ancient Greek word sibylla, meaning prophetess. There were eventually many Sibyls in the ancient world, but because of the importance of the Cumaean Sibyl in the legends of early Rome codified in Virgil's Aeneid VI, she became the most famous among Romans, supplanting the Erythraean Sibyl famed among Greeks: in Latin she was often simply referred to as The Sibyl.

She is one of the four sibyls painted by Raphael at Santa Maria della Pace (see gallery below.) She was also painted by Andrea del Castagno (Uffizi Gallery, illustration right), and in the Sistine Ceiling of Michelangelo her powerful presence overshadows every other Sibyl, even her younger and more beautiful sisters, such as the Delphic Sibyl.

There are various names for the Cumaean Sibyl besides the "Herophile" of Pausanias and Lactantius or the Aeneid's "Deiphobe, daughter of Glaucus": "Amaltheia", "Demophile" or "Taraxandra" are all offered in various references.

It is believed that she used oak leaves to tell the future, one of the prophecies was to say that the world will come to an end due to a change in the planet in the year 2012.

Even in recent times a web bot program built to review data on the Internet and return prophecies has also returned the date 2012 as the worlds end.
