Famed for the accuracy of their astronomy and the sophistication of their measurement of time, the ancient Mayan civilization has been recognized as one of the most important ever to have existed. According to recently decoded stone monuments and manuscripts the Mayans believed a cataclysmic change will affect the planet on 22 December 2012.On this date the fifth great cycle of time which began on August 11th 3113 BCE will come to a violent end. In this comprehensive book, expert author David Douglas presents compelling evidence for the accuracy of the Mayan calendar in predicting major events in world history and examines the latest scientific research that suggests events such as magnetic field changes and solar flares will indeed culminate in 2012; events which could result in catastrophe for our planet. Featuring a step-by-step guide to understanding and decoding the calendar and thought-provoking insights into the wisdom of this ancient culture, "The Mayan Prophecy 2012" is essential reading for our time.

As a mythical or real Armageddon looms in the future are we making it happen, or just by worrying about it? Being aware of it? Causing a shift in the cosmic consciousness.
Does fear of our own mortality, and the fact that we cannot do anything but live through the bad as well as the good set us into a depression? In many cases yes. 2012 Awareness is setting many people on the brink or edge of madness.
It might be good for us some state. It might allow us all to re-posture our lives. Set new standards, make the chaos of this wild collapsing world just relax and work itself out.
But as you can tell just by reading this, and searching the Internet for items in the News about 2012, ( "2012 Breaking News" ) you have already succumbed to the real madness or mania it brings.
Traditionally, insanity or madness is the behavior whereby a person flouts societal norms and may become a danger to themselves and others. Greek tragedies and Shakespeare often refer to madness in this sense. Psychologically, it is a general, popular and legal term defining behavior influenced by mental instability. In modern usage, it is most commonly encountered as an informal, unscientific term, or in the narrow legal context of the insanity defense. In the medical profession the term is now avoided in favor of more specific diagnoses of mental illness such as schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.
Mania (from Greek μανία and that from μαίνομαι - mainomai, "to rage, to be furious") is a severe medical condition characterized by extremely elevated mood, energy, unusual thought patterns and sometimes psychosis. There are several possible causes for mania including drug abuse and brain tumours, but it is most often associated with bipolar disorder, where episodes of mania may cyclically alternate with episodes of major depression. These cycles may relate to diurnal rhythms and environmental stressors. Mania varies in intensity, from mild mania (known as hypomania) to full-blown mania with psychotic features (hallucinations and delusions).
Symptoms of 2012 mania include rapid speech, racing thoughts, decreased need for sleep, hypersexuality, euphoria, impulsiveness, grandiosity, and increased interest in goal-directed 2012 activities. Mild forms of mania, known as hypomania, cause little or no impairment, but some people who suffer from prolonged hypomania may develop full mania.
Another symptom of mania is racing thoughts during which the sufferer is excessively distracted by unimportant stimuli. This negative experience creates an inability to function and an absentmindedness where the manic individual's thoughts totally preoccupy him or her, making him or her unable to keep track of time or be aware of anything besides the neurological pattern of thoughts.
Manic symptoms include irritability, anger or rage, delusions, hypersensitivity, hypersexuality, hyper-religiosity, hyperactivity, impulsiveness, racing thoughts, talkativeness, pressure to keep talking or rapid speech, and grandiose ideas and plans, decreased need for sleep (e.g. feels rested after 3 or 4 hours of sleep). In manic and hypomanic cases, the afflicted person may engage in out of character behavior such as questionable business transactions, wasteful expenditures of money, risky sexual activity, abnormal social interaction, or highly vocal arguments uncharacteristic of previous behaviors. These behaviors increase stress in personal relationships, problems at work and increases the risk of altercations with law enforcement as well as being at high risk of impulsively taking part in activities potentially harmful to self and others.
Although "severely elevated mood" sounds somewhat desirable and enjoyable, the experience of mania is often quite unpleasant and sometimes disturbing, if not frightening, for the person involved (and those close to them), and may lead to impulsive behavior that may later be regretted. It can also often be complicated by the sufferer's lack of judgment and insight regarding periods of exacerbation of symptoms. Manic patients are frequently grandiose, obsessive, impulsive, irritable, belligerent, and frequently deny anything is wrong with them. Because mania frequently encourages high energy and decreased perception of need or ability to sleep, within a few days of a manic cycle, sleep-deprived psychosis may appear, further complicating the ability to think clearly. Racing thoughts and misperceptions lead to frustration and decreased ability to communicate with others.
There are different "stages" or "states" of mania. For example, a minor state may involve increased creativity, wit, gregariousness, and ambition. However, a more serious state of mania may involve lack of good judgment, lack of ability to focus, and even psychosis. The victim of mania may feel elated; however, he/she may also feel irritable, frustrated, and may experience derealization.
How Green Are you?
Green politics is a political ideology which places a high importance on ecological and environmental goals, and on achieving these goals through broad-based, grassroots, participatory democracy. Green politics is advocated by supporters of the Green movement, which has been active through Green parties in many nations since the early 1980s. The political term Green, a translation of the German Grün, was coined by die Grünen, the first successful Green party, formed in the late 1970s. The term political ecology is sometimes used in Europe and in academic circles.
Have you considered going green? Do you recycle? Do you even consider turning out a light or not flushing when not necessary?
Supporters of Green politics, called Greens, share many ideas with the ecology, conservation, environmental, feminist, and peace movements. In addition to democracy and ecological issues, green politics is concerned with civil liberties, social justice and nonviolence.
Many today believe that as greener products flood the market each day then this will be enough to change the state of world affairs. As many preach today "Change is on the way". Whether it be for the good of Mankind... or the bad.
If 2012, exactly december 21, 2012 is our expiration date is their any thing we could or should do about it?
Simple living (voluntary simplicity) is a lifestyle characterized by minimizing the 'more-is-better' pursuit of wealth and consumption. Adherents may choose simple living for a variety of personal reasons, such as spirituality, health, increase in 'quality time' for family and friends, stress reduction, personal taste or frugality.

SPIRIT AND REAL GHOST PREDICTIONS FOR 2012
2012 Simple living as a concept is distinguished from those living in forced poverty from a catastrophic disaster, as it is a voluntary simpler lifestyle choice. Although asceticism generally promotes living simply and refraining from luxury and indulgence, not all proponents of voluntary simplicity are ascetics.
The term off the grid or off-grid refers to living in a self-sufficient manner without reliance on one or more public utilities.
Electrical power
Electrical power can be generated on-site with renewable energy sources such as solar or wind; with a generator and adequate fuel reserves; or simply done without, as in Amish communities. Such electricity system is called a Stand-alone Power System.
Water
On-site water sources can include a well, stream, or lake. Depending on the water source, this may include pumps or filtration.
On 13 April 2006, USA Today reported that there were "some 180,000 families living off-grid, a figure that has jumped 33% a year for a decade," and cited Richard Perez, publisher of Home Power magazine, as the source. Assuming the same rate of growth, there would be a quarter million off-grid households in the United States by late 2007. Because many third-world citizens have never had the chance to go on the grid, current estimates are that 1.7 billion people live off-grid worldwide.
Environmental impact
The State of California is encouraging solar electric generation and wind electric generation that is electrical grid connected to avoid the use of toxic lead acid batteries for night time storage . Grid connected solar arrays and windmill electric systems are more efficient and can be smaller in size and cost since because the batteries lose 15% to 25% of the energy to heating the battery during charging and discharging. Batteries increase system initial cost and require replacement as batteries wear out.
Going off-grid can be done for altruistic reasons or to lower the environmental impact of living, as the typically limited amount of on-site renewable energy available is an incentive to reduce its use. It is often done to residential buildings only occasionally occupied, such as vacation cabins, to avoid high initial costs of traditional utility connections. Other persons choose to live in houses where the cost of outside utilities is prohibitive, or such a distance away as to be impractical. In his book "How to live off-grid" Nick Rosen lists seven reasons for going off-grid. The top two are saving money, and reducing the carbon footprint. Others include survivalism, preparing for the collapse of the oil economy and bringing life back to the countryside.
Economic consideration
One off generation of power is seldom economical as the capital investment and maintenance needed as prohibitively high for one domestic unit. Local group schemes which cut down reliance on centralized productions help but the largest saving is made by reducing consumption and increasing retention (e.g. recycling and insulation).
Primary infrastructure considerations for off the grid construction:
* Fresh water source
* Energy source
* Waste disposal
Off-grid homes are autonomous—i.e. do not rely on municipal water supply, sewer, natural gas, electrical power grid or similar utility services. A true "off the grid" or "off-grid" house is able to operate completely independently of all traditional public utility services. The idea has been recently popularized by certain celebrities including Ed Begley, Jr. who stars in Living With Ed television show on the Home & Garden Television network. Actress Darryl Hannah also promotes "off-grid" living and constructed her home in Colorado according to those principles.
